Borneo – Orangutan Expedition (7 Days / 6 Nights)
An unforgettable journey deep into Tanjung Puting National Park to observe orangutans, proboscis monkeys, and exotic birds from the comfort of a traditional houseboat called klotok.
Starting / Ending Point: Pangkalan Bun Airport (Kalimantan)
Day 1 – Arrival in Pangkalan Bun – Kumai Harbor
Meet your guide and board a private klotok riverboat. Enjoy lunch as you cruise along the Sekonyer River surrounded by mangroves and wildlife. Overnight on the boat under the stars.
Day 2 – Tanjung Harapan Feeding Station
Morning visit to the first feeding platform to see orangutans up close. Afternoon cruise to observe proboscis monkeys leaping through the trees. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 3 – Camp Leakey Research Center
Continue upriver to Camp Leakey, the world-famous rehabilitation center founded by Dr. Biruté Galdikas. Jungle walk with rangers and photo time with orangutans.
Day 4 – Pondok Tangguy & Jungle Cruise
Visit another feeding station at Pondok Tangguy, then navigate quiet tributaries to spot hornbills and kingfishers. Optional night walk to see nocturnal creatures.
Day 5 – Villages & Reforestation Program
Stop at a local village to meet residents and plant a tree with park rangers. Return to the boat for relaxation.
Day 6 – Return to Kumai – Pangkalan Bun
Morning cruise back toward the harbor while enjoying breakfast and wildlife viewing. Check-in at hotel.
Day 7 – Departure
Transfer to Pangkalan Bun Airport for onward flight.
